China has reached great heights throughout history. Some cultural achievements include the Great Wall of China and the Silk Road, which have a major impact on our world. Even in the early years of China, they made several major cultural achievements. China made remarkable achievements in technology, art, medicine and the fields of astronomy. The Great Wall of China is a huge achievement. It took thousands of workers to build the wall and is the only structure that can be seen from space. The Silk Road started in 139 BC and is one of the world's most important and historical trade routes. The Shang Tombs are also important in Chinese history and displayed great skill in bronze-making and Chinese religious beliefs, such as the afterlife. Still today, these achievements have affected not only China, but the whole world. For example, we would not have many of the items we use everyday if it were not for the Silk Road. As well as physical objects, we would not have had many of the ideas and religions that are still popular and useful today. In the past, the Great Wall of China was used to protect China from invaders, and today it is still seen as the figurehead of China. Tai Chi is used around the world, and has many variations. The Shang Tombs are a glance into Chinese history. Read through all of these pages to learn more about each of these topics, and how they affect China, and the world.
